Thanks for joining our group. This tour will take you into the old part of city Kingston so can learn the stories not usually told about the history of Jamaica. Our Tour guide will meet you at your place of abode in Kingston. We travel by bus or car to tour the Liberty Hall (the museum of Marcus Garvey). In this tour we hear about the life & teachings of Marcus Garvey (Jamaica’s first National Hero), by a talk given by the tour guide, watching a short video & viewing the memorabilia displayed in the museum. After you have had all your questions answered, we take a short walk to the Simon Bolivar Centre. The Cultural Centre is a gift to Jamaica from the Government and people of Venezuela, the center is named in honour of South American Liberator and Venezuelan Revolutionary Leader, Simón BolÃvar, who, while exiled in Jamaica 200 years ago, wrote the famous ‘Carta de Jamaica’ or Letter of Jamaica. Located in close proximity to the Princess Street building where Simón BolÃvar stayed in 1815, the facility is intended to promote and develop cultural programmes for both children and adults, to help raise awareness of and appreciation for Latin American culture and of the ideals of the Liberator.
